Extreme Makeover - Card Edition

Wow! It's been soooo quiet out there in blog land this week.
I guess everyone is still recovering from CHA.

Today I've got a little card makeover to share with you. As some of you know, I'm on day 6 of the Master Cleanse Diet. That being said, I've gotten a lot of stamping done and my workshop has been totally reorganized and cleaned up. Apparently I can be pretty productive when I'm trying to keep my mind off of food!

While I was cleaning off one of my tables, I came across this...It's the sample card from a workshop I did, oh back in March I think.
Do you see the torn paper and adhesive left on the card? There was a large paper flower there, that I yanked off to use on another project. It's been sitting on my desk ever since. Well, after neglecting this poor little "frankensteined" card for 5 months, I thought I'd see what I could do with it. It seemed like such a waste to throw it away.

I needed an anniversary card to pop in the mail, so I inked up my Sarah Kay "A Kiss for Chloe" image and got stampin. Here's what I came up with...
As you can see, I flipped the card 90 degrees and added a scalloped Kraft panel on the right side to cover the rub-on sentiment from the original card. I colored the image with my Copics, added some So Saffron ribbon and Voila!

I hope this inspires you to keep some of your little treasures out of the trash!
Be sure to check back tomorrow for my Friday Faves!
Until then...

  2. Your card was great before and after. x I try to keep things I make that I'm not too sure about to see if I can use them somewhere along the line (most of them still end up in the bin though a month or two later!) - I'll try harder now. x

  3. I think we all have our makeover editions! With me being somewhat of a beginner, I have had to cover up a few things as I learn new techniques. Nice job on this one- and that stamp is so adorable!!

Good work on the Master Cleanse, I tried it once but found it very challenging, 1 b/c I worked with a lot of guys and 2 b/c I eat small meals and tend to snack throughout the day. (almonds, fruit, etc, all good things, but it is challenging when you do it w/o even thinking). I intend to do it again, but in the meantime, I wish you continued success!!!
