2 Challenges in one!

Earlier this month Monica gave the Hambo design team a Valentine challenge using a non-valentine image. When I saw what Carrie and Pam posted this week over on 3D design challenge, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I also made a card, but I'll share with you later.

Here's what I came up with... I just love this owl image and matching sentiment. He reminds me of the owl from Winnie the Pooh.
You know you want to make one!
Here's how...
Start with a square sheet of patterned paper. I used a 6 x 6 double sided sheet from SU's Bella Rose collection.
Fold in have as shown...
To help with my folds (because let's face it - I need all the help I can get!), I used my scoring tool to find the half way point.
Then I lined up the folded edge on the left side and scored on my half way mark.
Then I folded over the bottom left corner to my score mark on the right side.
Repeat with right corner to left side.
Then fold down the front.
Double sided paper really works nice for this project because you'll see both sides.
Now all you have to do is fill with goodies!
Hope my mini-tutorial was helpful. If you make one, be sure to send me a link!
See ya tomorrow,

3D Challenge

I finally had a chance to play along with Carrie's 3D design challenge. This time the challenge was to make an open top box. I decided to go with a 3 x 3 box and it was SO easy to make. There's still time to play along if you want to create one of your own!

All of the images are from Hambo and ohhhhhh if you only knew how true that sentiment was. It's like Monica and Tim designed that stamp especially for me!
Here's a close up of the cute little squirrel and the Copics that I used to color him in.

Sleep is for the weak!

What a day! This whole "two kids at two different schools" thing is going to be the end of me. I thought I'd have SO much free time when both kiddos were finally in school, but it seems to be the complete opposite right now. Please tell me it gets easier....

I'm not sure how it happened today... but in between getting my car smogged, being Kindergarten class mom, dropping off two more scrapbook layouts to Green Tangerines, packing for Hawaii, going on a lunch date with my husband and attending my monthly stamp club today...I managed to get another design team project done PLUS participate in a blog challenge! I know....I'm amazed too.

First let me share my design team project.
As I was perusing the aisles of Green Tangerines this morning, I noticed all of the FABULOUS Halloween goodies they've gotten in. I decided that I had to make a card with all of the goodies I fell in love with. I used sooooo many products on this card that I decided to upgrade to a 5 x 7 base for my layout.

Here's a close up of the letters. The "O"s are clear acrylic that I used rub-ons and sponged black Staz-On directly onto. I had planned on getting the "B" in clear acrylic also, but they were out of stock. Instead, I decided to cut out my own letter B in black cardstock, sponged with white pigment ink and added rub-ons. Here's the full supply list for you:

Patterned Paper - Bo Bunny Press "Spooktastic" collection (Grim Dots, Smell My Feet & Spooktastic Stripe)
Cardstock - Bazzill
Rub-Ons - Bo Bunny "Hallows Eve"
Stamps - Imaginisce "Hallowhimsy" collection
Acrylic Letters - Creative Acrylics (Dymanic Dots & Sassy Squares)

Okay stampers...are you still with me??

After I finished my card, I had a little bit of cardstock left over and decided to take advantage. I thought a little goodie bag would be the perfect companion to my Halloween card.

My blog buddy Carrie Gaskin just started a 3D challenge blog with a friend of hers. The challenge for today was to make a "one sheet box" with this template that was provided. The timing couldn't have been better - Thanks Carrie!

Here's what I did with all of my scraps and extra rub-ons!

Now you may notice that my entry looks slightly different than the sample on 3D challenge. If you look at the template, you'll notice 4 diagonal score lines. Instead of folding mine in, I folded them out for a bit of a different look. Same exact template, just folded differently.

Thanks so much for coming by today. Go check out Carrie's blog and play along if you have a chance.
