An oldie, but a goodie

Today I'm sharing my last project as the June guest designer for Stamp-By-Step. This is actually a card that I had previously made using Lily as a bumblebee, but it's one of my favorites, so I thought I'd share it again with my new readers.
A big thank you to Cheryl over at Stamp-By-Step! Thanks so much for inviting me to play along with you this month - it was fun!

I'll be back tomorrow with a cute new release from Pink Cat Studio!

Little C's Inspiration Challenge

Today Jen has picked another fabulous photo as inspiration for our Tuesday challenge! There are so many cool elements in the inspiration photo, but I decided to just focus on one - the bookcase. Here's what I came up with... I used some glitter alphabet letters by Doodlebug and a flower brad by Stampin Up.
And you know me and jewels....
I hope you'll play along with us this week! Be sure to hop on over the Little C's challenge blog to see what the rest of the divas came up with.

Oh, and for all of you scrapbookers out there....Little C's has just started a Saturday Scrapbook challenge! I'm still recovering from my trip, but I'm hoping to play along once things settle back down. You can check out this weeks sketch right here!

She's like, totally awesome

Hey there!
The family and I are back from Japan! What an incredible trip! I'll share a few pics later, but right now we're trying to adjust to the correct time zone! Our schedules are completely backwards right now and jet lag is totally kicking my butt!

Luckily, I anticipated the whole jet lag "thing" and had some cards made and photographed before I left for my trip. (type A personality?....)

I picked up this super cute Miss Anya set at Scrapbook Territory last month and thought she'd be perfect for a thank you card that I needed to make. A good friend of mine surprised me with some of my favorite Harajuku perfume and I saved the yellow band from the gift box. (you can see it in the photo above)

The band was a super bright yellow, so my color scheme took off from there. And it just so happens that my super bright card is perfect for the challenge on the Oh Alice blog - yay me!
The sentiment is a rub-on by Stampin Up and I used some yellow jewels for a little sparkle.
I colored Anya's purse and skirt with Sakura glaze pens for a really shiny look.

That's it for me today. I going to go crawl back into bed.
Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long

My cabana boy scheduled this post for me because my hottie hubs and I are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary today!

We've got a fun challenge for you over at the CSAYL blog today. This week we want you to make a Christmas card using faux or real stitching.
Here's what I came up with...This little guy is Trevor by CC Designs.
I had some ink bleeding issues with the blue Copics on Trevor's hat. But as I always say....there are no mistakes in crafting, just embellishment opportunities. I took the "opportunity" to use some fake snow that I found in my holiday embellishment drawer.
The sentiment is a rub-on that I popped up with a small oval punch.
The background paper is from the "Crafty" slab by DCWV. Can you see the faux stitching on the middle panel in the photo above?
Be sure to hop on over to the CSAYL blog to see what the rest of the team has cooked up today. And when you're done being inspired, create your own masterpiece and leave us a link! Have a great weekend!

Got your tanning oil?

My cabana boy scheduled this post for me because I'm touring some beautiful Japanese temples today!

Howdy stampers!
This is my 4th week as the June guest designer for Stamp-by-Step. Today I wanted to share this fun card using an image of Lily in her inner tube. I embellished the bottom corner with some super bright flowers and mini buttons. See that little tanning oil embellishment?
It's a button that I never had the heart to throw away. Into the stash drawer it went....three years ago. Who knew it would take that long to make the perfect card to go with it? I was SO happy to finally use it!
Can I get a cyber high-five from my fellow embellishment hoarders??

And here's a close up of cute little Lily.
Adorable, no?
I drew in some sand with my Copics and sponged on some clouds.

Then I finished it off with a little bling.

Be sure to check out the Stamp-by-Step website. They have lots of great crafty stuff for all of your hoarding needs!

A Sweet Inspiration Challenge

My cabana boy scheduled this post for me because I'm busy trying to get free samples at the sake factory!

Today is Tuesday and that means another fabulous inspiration challenge from Little C's. Here is this weeks photo...Great pic isn't it?
Here's what I came up with... I used these yummy green pearls to mimic the piping on the bottom of the cake.
I also added these mini pink roses because I just couldn't resist.

This is "Rosalie with Roses" by CC Designs. I've been working on my black hair technique and this image was great practice. To pull the whole card together, I used the pattern papers to paper piece her dress and socks.
So what do you think? Are you inspired by the photo? I hope you'll play along with us this week. Be sure to leave a link to your creation on the Little C's blog.

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long

My cabana boy scheduled this post for me because I'm goofing off at Tokyo Disneyland today!

Todays challenge over the CSAYL blog is to make a vintage style card. Vintage is SO not my style, but I love the way that other people are able to pull it off. I thought this would be a tough challenge for me, but in the end, I was happy with what I made and it only took about 15 minutes!
I thought the ice skating couple from SU's "Winter Post" would be a good image for this challenge. I stamped it out in Sahara Sand ink and then sponged the edges with the same color.

I finished it off with some very vintage looking flowers by Prima. I'm not sure what flowers have to do with ice skating or Christmas for that matter, but they matched my patterned paper, so I went with it! I hope you'll join us this week and perhaps stretch a bit out of your comfort zone. Only 27 weeks to go!

Stamp by Step Guest Designer for June

My cabana boy scheduled this post for me because I'm in the Harajuku District today!

Happy Wednesday to all of you.
This is my third week as guest designer for Stamp-by-Step and I have another fun project to share with you. Here's another image from "Lily at the Beach" by Pink Cat Studio. I used lots of bright papers and flowers on this one. The papers are from the "Fancy Pants" line by Simplicity and the flowers can be found here.
I stamped out the image three times to give the turtle lots of dimension and finished it off with some wide ribbon.

Have you had a chance to stop by and visit the Stamp-by-Step website? Cheryl has a HUGE amount of product in her inventory for great prices and even has some free samples available. I'm dying to get some of these paper strawberries! I may have to place an order when I get home from my trip!

Little C's Inspiration Challenge

My cabana boy scheduled this post for me because I drank a little too much sake!
Hey kids!
It's challenge time again over on the Little C's challenge blog. Check out this weeks inspiration photo!Isn't it fabulous?! I love everything about it!

Here's what I came up with using "Stella" from The Greeting Farm... Have you ever made a card that you just LOVE? This one came out waaay cuter than I had pictured it in my head - gosh I wish that happened more often!

I used some of my favorite red polka dot ribbon by Stampin Up. And yes, I stocked up on yards and yards of it before it retires.
I used my Swiss Dots embossing folder on the white cardstock in the background.
And embellished with some mini hearts and a rub-on sentiment.

I hope you have as much fun with this challenge as I did! Be sure to check out what Jen and Maria did too.
