Christmas Stampin' All Year Long

Today is Friday and that means we've got a brand new challenge for you over at the CSAYL blog. Do you know that there are only 21 more weeks until Christmas? I know....it's totally sick that I know that, but it will be here before you know it!

This week the uber-talented Maria has created a sketch for us to play with! Oh how I love Maria's sketches. I've missed using them, but she pulled one of my favorites out of her "vault" for us to play with today.

Here's what I came up with... These cuties are from the "Lily & Billy Winter" set by Pink Cat Studio.
I used some patterns by DCWV and then paper pieced their outfits. Then I cut out the images and added some Doodlebug Sugar Coating to the snow angel shapes.

I finished it off with some May Arts ribbon and a rub on sentiment.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the Christmas divas came up with this week. I hope you'll play along with us this week - come on.....you know you want to!

The last one...

Today is the last day that we'll be doing a Little C's challenge as a team. After a lot of thought, Jen has decided to to focus more on the fun part of this hobby, instead of the business end.
That being said, you still have one week to play along with our last challenge! Here's the inspiration photo, so get ready to be inspired...
I decided to use the color combo as my inspiration and came up with this...The patterned papers are from a retired collection from Stampin Up. I've had a hard time using them because they're so "busy", but I think they worked well on this card.Is this little cutie adorable or what?
She's part of the Twinkle Tots line by The Greeting Farm. Well that's it for me today. I'm off to plan my sons birthday weekend! If you'd like to play along with us for this last challenge, hop on over to the challenge blog. As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by today!

Something sticky from Hambo...

Hey there, happy Monday to you.
Today I have a little Hambo goodie to share using an image called "Popsicle Stand". I drew in a sidewalk with my Copics and then embellished with some plastic that was sitting on my craft table.
I have a bunch of popsicle sticks for rub-ons, and figured I could spare one for this card. I colored it with a blue Sakura glaze pen to look shiny and sticky. And since the popsicle stick was blue I had to go back to my image and make his lips blue to match!
Just look at that guilty face.
If you love Hambo stamps, then you'll want to go check out all of their BRAND NEW rubber images that are available! Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back tomorrow with the very last inspiration challenge from Little C's.

Christmas Stampin All Year Long

TGIF! Today brings a brand new challenge over at the CSAYL site!
This week, Sassy Cheryl's will be sponsoring our challenge. Come play along in our challenge and you'll have a chance to win a $5 Sassy Cheryl's gift certificate.

The challenge this week is "Buttons and Bows". Create a card using ribbons and buttons as your embellishment. The challenge will end on Thursday, July 29th and the winner will be announced on July 30th. Good Luck!

Here's what I came up with using an image called "Rudolph's Nose".
Luckily I had this all put together before "the finger incident"!

I used a crazy green pattern in the background from October Afternoon, but I think it worked well with the large image and polka dot ribbon.
To finish it off, I used a red Sakura glaze pen on poor Rudolph's nose and then sponged some light blue along the edges.
I hope you'll join in and play with us this week! Be sure to hop on over to the CSAYL blog to see what the rest of the team came up with.
Have a fantastic weekend!

A fun challenge

A friend told me this morning that one of my published cards is featured on the CardMaker website - you can check it out here if you'd like.

Today the Little C's challenge blog has a colorful new challenge with a pet theme. Here's the inspiration photo...

Here's what I came up with...

As you can see, I interpreted the inspiration photo quite literally using the three large circles. The fire hydrant and sentiment are from an SU set called "Mans Best Friend". If you'd like to play along with us this week and see what the rest of the gals came up with, hop on over to the challenge blog! Keepin' it quick today because I've had some technical difficulties since yesterday.

It's the new sexy...

Hi...my name is MacKenzie and I'm a farmers market junkie. There are few things that I enjoy more than going to the local farmers market, and getting yummy organic fruits and veggies to feed to my family. Needless to say, I was thrilled when MFT came out with "WTG Goes Green"! I've been looking for a set like this for a long time and I literally skipped back to my house from the mailbox when it arrived.

Of course I had to ink it up right away... Jen's sketch was perfect for the layout.
The kraft base was embossed with a background folder from a Sizzix Hello Kitty collection. Oh, and I finally found a use for those cute wooden fruits that I picked up at Michaels ages ago! Can I get a cyber high-five from my fellow embellishment hoarders?!
Love love love the sentiment. I think I may have to put that on a t-shirt!
It's as hot as a match today, so we're heading out to the pool. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world today.
Hugs,

NEW RUBBER RELEASE FROM PINK CAT STUDIO!

Today there are 5 new sets being released over at Pink Cat Studio! Melissa took some of her most popular digital Christmas images and turned them into rubbah! Here are some of the samples that I made when these images were first introduced as digitals.

Penguin on a candy cane swing - adorable, no?During an insomniac moment at 3am, I decided to use the owl image as a template. I ended up with a super cute hand-stitched coffee cozy. Insomnia...don't knock it 'til you try it! I've come up with some of my favorite things when the rest of the world is sleeping :-)

What Pink Cat Studio release would be complete without Lily?

Here she is in Candyland... And check out the cute snowman.
I love that he's not just three circles stacked together! That Melissa is just so clever!

This week at Christmas Stampin All Year Long our wonderful sponsor is In Style Stamps. In Style Stamps are releasing their new Christmas digital images today and we're showing a few samples of the wonderful Christmas images.

Here's what I came up with using an image called "Mom & Daughter Shopping Day"...

Here's a close up shot of the main image.
For the "bling" requirement this week, I added diamond Stickles to the snow and then dumped on some Doodlebug Sugar Coating to give it some dimension.

Black & White Challenge

Color me Copic just issued it's first challenge!
Here's my entry...
This adorable image is by Sugar Nellie and was perfect for the black and white technique, because she's an anime image. I also added a bit of grey hand stitching to finish off the edges of the card.

Quick post today! We're off to a birthday party. I'll be back tomorrow with a brand new rubber release from Pink Cat Studio AND a new challenge from Christmas Stampin All Year Long.
