My first oval

When I saw Jen's sketch this past weekend, I decided to play along because it was a layout that I had never done before. Here's what I came up with...
I used an image from House Mouse that hasn't seen ink a a really long time. Since the main image has a lot of detail, I decided to keep the rest of the card clean and simple by just using solid cardstock and avoiding patterned paper. I decided to go with Green Galore, Real Red, Very Vanilla and Close to Cocoa. To finish it off, I added some delicious red velvet ribbon and sponged Creamy Caramel along the edges of the Vanilla cardstock.

Here's the Christmas version that I did....
For this one, I gold embossed the poinsettia image from SU's "Spotlight on Christmas" set. Then I embossed a holiday sentiment along the bottom and added some ribbon from the Winter mini catalog.

Honestly....not my favorite card, but we all have a dud every once in a while right?

Until tomorrow...

Golf Congrats - Scheduled Post #13

Made this card for a MAJOR golf lover I know. Isn't this image from House Mouse adorable?

I stamped the main image onto SU Kraft cardstock, colored in with my Copics and cut it out.
I stamped the golf ball separately onto Whisper White cardstock, clear embossed it and then popped it up on dimensionals for a little extra *pop*.
Hugs,

For a berry good friend

I just love this little guy from House Mouse. This is one of my favorite images to color. When I got my new Prismacolor pencils, this is one of the images that I "practiced" on.

For the card base, I used the Bazzill bling pink paper and Basicgrey's pattern paper from the Blush collection. I've had some pink magic mesh that I won in a raffle from the local scrapbook store. I've had a tough time using it, and thought it added a nice layer on this card. The sentiment is by Amuse and fits perfectly in the 1 3/8 inch circle punch. Ribbon is from an SU mini catalog that I splurged on a while back.

Manly enough for ya??

Does anyone else out there have a really tough time making cards for the guys in our lives? I just love all of my cute little buttons, pretty ribbons and Prima flowers, but they don't exactly scream testosterone ya know?

I've been working on a golfing themed fundraiser for my sons 1st grade class and have gotten so many generous donations from local golf courses. I decided to make some thank you cards for all of the guys who made the donations and thought that my House Mouse stamp would be perfect.

I used my Copics to color in the first image and an auqa painter and reinkers to color in the second card.
For the second card, I stamped the image twice and used my 1 inch circle punch on the golf ball and added it to the other stamped image.

I must say that I was VERY proud of myself for tying a perfectly flat bow on the first card - another challenge for me.

Thanks to all of you who have sent me so many kind e-mails and comments to welcome me to "blog-land".
