My Timeless Templates

My cabana boy has the day off because I'm home!

Hey kids!
It's Saturday already and that means a new challenge from Lauren and the "My Time to Create" team. This challenge is a GREAT one! Use a My Timeless Template, designed by Lauren herself, and create a package for candy! Here's what I came up with using "From the Desk of"... To make the pops stand up on their own, I used a scrap of thick black cardstock and created an insert. I cut the cardstock to 6 x 5 1/2 inches and scored on the long side at 2" and 4".
Then I folded on the score lines and used my Crop-A-Dile to punch 5 holes for the sticks.

Then I added the pops and filled the bottom with candy corn.
These pops are super easy to make.
Apparently they're delicious too, because they've all disappeared from my workshop!

All you need are lollipop sticks, orange candy melts, large marshmallows and sprinkles. Melt the orange candy melts in the microwave according to the package directions. Push the marshmallows down onto the lollipop sticks and then dip into the candy melts. Before they harden, cover with sprinkles and then place in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to set.

I hope you're inspired to play along with us! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team did and upload your creation by going to Lauren's blog.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back on Monday and with a new challenge from the CSAYL blog to share with you.
Until then...

"My Time" to color

My cabana boy scheduled this post for me because I'm strapped to a parachute on the back of a speedboat right now.

Hey there! The family and I are still in Hawaii, but that didn't stop me from getting all of my challenges done before I left!

Today Lauren has a color challenge for you...
Aren't these warm Fall colors just DELISH?!

I've been waiting for an excuse to whip out this stamp, so here she is... The striped pattern in the background is from SU's "To the Nines" collection and I layered it on Chocolate Chip cardstock. The main image is from DeNami Designs, and I have just fallen in love with all of their images. A good friend of mine worked in the DeNami booth at the last stamp expo, and now I'm totally hooked!

To finish off my card, I added a sentiment from Hambo and some mini leaves I picked up in a $1 bin at JoAnns ages ago.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by today!

"My Time" to inspire...

My cabana boy scheduled this post for me so he wouldn't have to interrupt my massage.

Do you know what day it is?
It's "My Time" challenge day!
Today Lauren has a beautiful photo for us to use as inspiration to get crafty...
What do you think?
Beautiful photo right? I wouldn't mind having those sheets on my bed.

Here's what I came up with without using ANY stamps...I've had these rub ons by Stampin Up for a looooooong time. I use rub ons all the time when I scrapbook, but almost never on my cards. I decided to leave them out on my table, waiting for inspiration to whack me on the head.
Thanks Lauren!

As you can see, I obviously used the colors from the photo, but I also really liked how the brown pillow was un-centered on the bed. The color and placement of it really draw the eye right to it. I used a small square of Chocolate Chip cardstock, some rub ons and a button to mimic that look on my card.
The photo also had layers and layers of yummy fabric and that inspired me to add some thread to my card. I used a paper piercer and then hand-stitched a single thread around the border to finish off my card.
So what do you think?
Are you inspired to play along with us?
We've had lots of participants lately and I just love seeing what you all come up with.

"My Time" sketch challenge

Hey kids - Saturday again!
Last week Lauren and the "My Time to Create" team took the week off to get our munchkins settled into their new school schedules.

We're back today with a sketch challenge for you...Here's what I came up with, repeating a color combo that I did a couple of weeks ago...
(Pink Passion, Bermuda Bay & Whisper White) I used up some more of those rub-ons I've had sitting on my desk for ages, and accented with some images from a Stampin Up set called "Great Friend".

I folded up the wings of the butterfly to add some dimension and then accented with some pretty turquoise rhinestones.

To finish it off, I added a rub on for the sentiment, pierced around the edges and then gave it to one of my favorite people in the whole world!

I hope you're inspired to play along with us this week! Don't forget to upload your creation to the Mr Linky on Lauren's blog for a chance to be featured in her "My Time to Shine" post.

Still need some inspiration?

My Timeless Templates

The Bruckler family survived the first week of school! My kids have AMAZING teachers this year and I can't wait to spoil them rotten!

Since were all in "Back to School Mode", Lauren and the rest of the DT have the perfect challenge for you...

Choose a My Timeless Template (designed by the uber-fabulous Lauren herself) to play with and make a Back to School themed project.

While I was up in my workshop contemplating what to make, my daughter looked up at me with her big beautiful brown eyes and asked if I'd make something special for her and her brother. Seriously, how could I say no? Besides, I've got the whole rest of the school year to spoil the teachers :-)

Here's what I came up with using Filled with Flair...

We have a homework station set up in our kitchen where the kids can keep all of their school assignments, supplies and endless paperwork organized. I printed up three Filled with Flair templates on Real Red and Wild Wasabi cardstock and attached them together creating sections for some of their homework supplies. All three templates fit into the cute tray, which is INCLUDED in the $5 template price. What a steal!I used my SU punches and computer generated text to create labels for each section.

Then I wrapped the tray with this adorable alphabet ribbon that I stock up on everytime I'm able to find it.
As you can see, I stamped a Hambo apple image to the sides of the template and clear embossed to add a little interest. I also added a 1/2" to the tray template so I could fit some erasers on the side.

My kids absolutely LOVE this and it totally made my day to give it to them.
I can't wait to see what YOU do with the challenge!

Be sure to stop by my sidebar and check out what the rest of the design team came up with.

"My Time" to color...

Well, it's officially the last weekend of Summer vacation in our house. School starts on Tuesday, and even though the summer went by quickly, it will be nice to get back into our daily routine.

Today, Lauren has a color challenge for you...Now to be totally honest, this was a tough color combo for me.
I can't wait to see what you guys do with it!
Luckily I just got my new Bermuda Bay cardstock in the mail earlier this week, so the blue was taken care of. As for the other colors, I had to dig in my scrap bin, and dig....and dig.....and dig....because those are not colors that I use or keep on hand.

Thank goodness I keep EVERY scrap!
Here's what I came up with...
I thought todays challenge would be the perfect opportunity to give you all a sneak peek at some of the new product that will be available in the SU mini catalog available on September 1st!

The stamp set is called "Sweet Centers" and has images for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day in addition to a flower and a hot air balloon. The hot air balloon is what sold me on the set. As soon as I saw it, I had to have it! All of the images coordinate with a 1 3/4" circle punch and little plastic containers that fit perfectly into the punched area! You can fill them with jelly beans, glitter, buttons, anything you can think of! Love love love it! There are even special padded envelopes available in the mini catalog so you can pop these beauties in the mail to a very lucky person!

I used an image from "Circle Circus" on the background and a sentiment from "Embrace Life" to finish off this card. The coral patterned paper is by Bo Bunny and the sugar coated brads are by Doodlebug.

"My Time" to inspire...

Yay! The weekend is finally here and that means a new challenge from Lauren!

This week we have an inspiration challenge for you to play with. Here's what I came up with...
Obviously I used the colors as my inspiration.
I translated them as Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette.

The turquoise patterned paper is something that I picked up in a bargin bin by Die Cuts With a View and the stamped image is by Inkadinkado.

I hand-stitched a single thread around the border and added some pink jewels for a little sparkle...
And some buttons...
Are you inspired to play along with us?
Go stamp up your little beauty and post it on Lauren's blog so we can all see.
Today, Lauren will be highlighting 5 lucky participants from last week in her new feature, "My Time to Shine". Go check it out, you may see yourself!

"My Time" sketch challenge

Hey everyone!
Saturday brings a brand new challenge from Lauren.
This week we get to play with a sketch... Here's what I came up with...
Only 18 more days until school starts!
My kids are super excited, but my goodness, where did the summer go? I thought this would be the perfect time to start making some cards for "Meet the Teacher Day". I've only got three cards to make, so I've got a good head start.

For this card, I used a school bus die cut from BasicGreys "Recess" line and a sentiment sticker by Karen Foster. The main image is the uber-adorable teacher Anya from The Greeting Farm.

I hope you play along with us!
Check out what the other gals did and be sure to link your creation on Lauren's blog!

"My Time" to create...

I'll be doing all of my blogging from bed for the next week. I've got a kidney infection and kidney stones......again. The next few posts I make will be short and sweet - before the meds kick in and knock me out!

Today Lauren has issued a template challenge using the following photo as inspiration.I decided to use the "Filled with Flair" template and this is what I came up with.
My friend has a birthday coming up, so I made the template and filled it with six matching monogrammed cards.
I believe the patterned paper is from SU's collection called "Urban Garden". The monogram letter is from a Martha Stewart monogram stamp set. I picked it up ages ago in hopes of making monogrammed card sets as gifts, but this is the first time it's finally seen some action.

Here are some detail shots of the cards.
I made two each of three different patterns and tried to keep them clean and simple.

Here they are all together.
Hope you're inspired to play along with us!
You can check out all of Lauren's fab templates here.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT gals did by going to my sidebar.
As for me, I'm of to la-la land....

"My Time" to inspire...

Today's Saturday and that means a new challenge from my uber-talented pal Lauren! This week we have an inspiration piece to share with you...

I only have Stampin Up cardstock, so I translated the colors as:
Blue Bayou, So Saffron, Old Olive and Riding Hood Red.
Here's what I came up with...

The dress images and sentiment on the tag are from SU's "Pattern of Friendship" - one of my all time favorite sets. I don't even sew, but I was just had to have this set. I really like the vintage feel of it.

I created a little pocket for my tag and hand-stitched some buttons to the top of it.

I paper pieced the dress images and hand-stitched around the border.

I also created a spool of thread embellishment with my SU Round Tab Punch. I simply punched it out of Close to Cocoa cardstock and wrapped it with some thread. Easy-peasy!

So...are you feeling inspired yet?
Be sure to upload your creation to the challenge post on Lauren's blog. I love seeing what you all do each week! Looking for more inspiration??
