Christmas Stampin' All Year Long

Friday at last! Today was the last day of school for the kiddos and I'm amazed at all of the activities they were able to squeeze into the last few days. I'm exhausted!

I did manage to sneak in some stamping time for the challenge this week at CSAYL. This week, the challenge is to make a CD envelope mini album.

What the heck is that? Well....I asked the same question, and to be honest, I put this project off for as long as possible because I was a little intimidated.

I was pleasantly surprised once I got started and can't believe how FAST this little beauty came together! Click here for the tutorial.

Okay...enough blabbing.
Here's what I came up with....
I paired up a fun double sided pattern with Bermuda Bay and Real Red cardstock.

Here's a close up of the 3 x 3 gift card that I made to go with the album. I copied the look of the album cover to pull both projects together. Don't you just love when everything is matchy-matchy?
Here's a close up of the album closure. I used my new die from Papertrey Ink and a fun stamp from SU's "Winter Post" set.

Here's what the album looks like open. I stamped the cd envelopes with a peppermint candy image and left the rest of it pretty simple. My color scheme was pretty bold, so I didn't want to add too much.

Please don't feel intimidated to play along with us this week! This project was SO simple and Maria did a superb job on the tutorial! Once you've got your papers and patterns picked out, you can get it completed in under 20 minutes - promise!

Pink Cat Digital Release Day!

This was a fun one to play with...

If you look really close, you'll notice that every bird is different. I just love all of the little details that Melissa added.

I stamped out this sentiment, which is also available as a digital, and then added some yellow glitter.

I didn't have any ribbon that matched my color scheme, so I took some white grosgrain and colored it with a Copic marker. Voila! Lavender ribbon!

My card was looking a little plain when I finished it. So, I decided to do some piercing with my pokey tool and some faux stitching with a white pen.

For my last sample today, I used these uber-cute birds on a wire. I thought this image was the perfect size for a checkbook cover.

This was a super quick project - less than 15 minutes and I love it!

It's challenge day over at the Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog. This week we want you make an accordion file purse with this wonderful tutorial put together by my uber-talented buddy Maria.

I totally cheated this week, but I have a good reason!
I printed out the tutorial, picked out my papers and was getting ready to start......when I remembered a Christmas gift that I received last year. It was an accordion file box kit by K & Company! Normally this would go into my "needs to be altered" storage box, which is where it has been for the last five months. I decided to USE it instead of save it. Can I get a cyber high-five from my fellow hoarders?! Amen!

This is the kit..... It also came with coordinating papers....
I decided to make it into a Christmas organizer. I created a cute "title" using some of the alphabet stickers and paper clips that came with the kit and finished it off with some alphabet rub ons that I had in my stash.

I used more of the alphabet rub ons, scrap paper and a circle punch to create tabs for each section of my organizer.

And since I was already "cheating" this week.....

I used the extra chipboard pieces from the kit to create gift tags (instead of a matching card). What can I say?
I was being naughty and I was on a roll!

Outside, Inside

It's challenge day with the Little C's divas! This week our theme is "Outside, Inside" and we want you to decorate the outside and inside of your project.

Here's what I came up with... I used a tin and a cute image called "Nurse Nora" to make a mini first aid kit for the car. I used glitter on her angel wings, a Sakura glaze pen on her red boots and popped up her apron with dimensionals.

The cat is out of the bag...

Pink Cat Studio has a brand new Digital Design Team!
And little ol' me was asked to join!

For those of you who have been living under a rock, Pink Cat Studio now has a digital collection of adorable characters. Melissa will be doing a digital release EVERY THURSDAY and I'm really looking forward to sharing them with you each week!

Oh....and funny coincidence....back in January, I was scheduled to be the Pink Cat Guest Designer for the month of October, so starting on the 12th, I get to give you some sneak peeks at the newest rubber set! You definitely won't want to miss it!

Without further adieu here are todays digital releases...

It's okay....I squealed too when I saw them.
Aren't they cute?!

I chose to work with the flower image and decided to make a door hanger for a baby girl. Every princess needs her beauty sleep right?

I printed out the image on Vanilla cardstock and let it dry for about 10 minutes. Then I colored with my Copics and sponged around the edges of the main panel.The letters are white glitter stickers, that I colored with my E00 Copic marker to make them a little more "vanilla" toned.

For the flower shape on top, I punched out 4 circles with my 1 3/8 inch punch and cut them in half. Then I glued them to the back of a 3 1/2 ring of red cardstock.

Hambo Hump Day

Yay! Schools back in!
My son wanted to start off the year with a brand spankin new tag for his backpack. This should definitely help him weed out his black backpack in the sea of 15 other black backpacks in the classroom. The text and adorable image are by Hambo.
I used some Doodlebug Sugar Coating for a little sparkle and then tied some ribbon on the sides. The plastic case is a name badge holder. I picked up a pack of 10 at the Dollar Tree and just punched a couple of extra holes with my Crop-A-Dile for my ribbon.

Tons of Christmas stuff and BIG news from Hambo!

Brace yourselves - this is a ginormous post. Here are all of the Christmas cards, projects and goodies that I didn't have a chance to post until now. Oh....if only there were just ONE more week until Christmas!

Okay, here goes! These are some gift tags I made for the kids gifts. All of the cute little animal images are from Hambo.
And speaking of Hambo, all of their NEW DESIGNS are now available!! You can check them out here.
So many cute ones to choose from! I promise to have some samples for you after the holiday.


I made this next card at a monthly stamp club that I attend. We used Kiwi Kiss for the base and the "Ski Slope" patterned paper (also in the SU holiday mini).

We embellished with felt snowflakes and a gorgeous jewel brad.

For this one, I used the "Scandanavian Christmas" set from the SU holiday mini and embellished with miscellaneous goodies from my workshop table.
I embossed the tree image with white and added half-pearls to embellish.



For this one, I used my new Kim Hughes U R A Hoot stamps.
LOVE THEM!This one has a Baha Breeze card base and scraps of the "Ski Slope" patterned paper by SU.

Last one - promise!

Here's a Christmas card holder that I made to display as a project idea at Green Tangerines.

For this one, I used paper from K I Memories "Festive" line by Elsie.

Last minute gift for a movie lover

We were invited to a birthday dinner on Monday night for a gal who LOVES to go to the movies. I decided to run over to Costco and pick up a couple sets of movie tickets for her. On the drive home, I was trying to think of a quick but cute way to wrap them up.

Here's what I came up with. This was so easy and only took about 10 minutes to make!

First, I whipped out my Hello Kitty popcorn maker (actually my husband has claimed it as his, but let's not get into that). I took a small handful of kernels and popped them without using butter or salt. While that cooled...

I cut a scrap of patterned paper to 4 x 6 1/2 and scored it at 1" and 5 1/2". Then I scalloped the border on the longer side.

Next, I took a clear card box that I got from Papertrey Ink and inserted the patterned paper. No adhesive necessary.

Then, I took a yellow piece of cardstock, cut it to approx 4 3/8 x 6 1/4.
I fanned out the tickets and attached them with repositionable adhesive to the yellow cardstock.

Then I slid the cardstock with tickets attached inside the box and filled up with popcorn!
So cute AND easy!

I'm the worst at wrapping gifts, so I was really happy with how this came out.
