It's challenge day over at CSAYL and this week we were given a photo as inspiration. You can check out the photo and the challenge post, here.

This is what I came up with using some of the new Christmas designs that are now available at Hambo.I did lots of paper piecing on the stockings and then added liquid applique to the Santa hats.

Feeling Fall

Is anyone else excited that Fall is just around the corner? Definitely my favorite time of year. Over the weekend, I put together a few Fall cards and wanted to share one with you today. The patterned paper by DCWV inspired the color scheme and layout. The sentiment is by Hambo and I paper pieced the letters for "Fall" to pull it all together. Then I put it all on a 4 x 8 kraft base and embellished with some tiny leaves. Quick post for me today - thanks a bunch for stopping by!

A little something for the teachers

The kiddos started school yesterday and we're starting to get back into the ol' routine. We always like to bring a little something to the teachers on the first day. This year I decided to make notepads. I bought some white notepads from PaperTrey Ink a while back, that were perfect for this project. Each pad measures 8" x 2.5" and 1/8" thick. I decided to add a notepad to each side of the cover so the teachers could use these throughout the year.
Here's a close up of the front cover. I used paper scraps, a sentiment from Hambo and finished it all off with a button.
To make the cover:
Cut cardstock to 5.5" x 8.5".
Then score at 2.5" and 2.75".
You can get two covers from one sheet of 8.5" x 11" cardstock! Love that! Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Something sticky from Hambo...

Hey there, happy Monday to you.
Today I have a little Hambo goodie to share using an image called "Popsicle Stand". I drew in a sidewalk with my Copics and then embellished with some plastic that was sitting on my craft table.
I have a bunch of popsicle sticks for rub-ons, and figured I could spare one for this card. I colored it with a blue Sakura glaze pen to look shiny and sticky. And since the popsicle stick was blue I had to go back to my image and make his lips blue to match!
Just look at that guilty face.
If you love Hambo stamps, then you'll want to go check out all of their BRAND NEW rubber images that are available! Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back tomorrow with the very last inspiration challenge from Little C's.

What's Up?

Howdy peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend. The hubs and I got SO many things crossed off our to-do list over the last couple of days and it feels SO good! To reward ourselves, we decided to take the kids out for a movie date and a trough of popcorn. We saw Toy Story 3 and it was fantastic! Best one yet, in my opinion. I was a total crying snotty mess during the last ten minutes of the movie - did anyone else do that or is it just me?

Anyhoo....today I wanted to share a couple more sneak peeks of the new releases coming from Hambo tomorrow. Check out this cute little guy... His belly was just begging for some white flock...
And here's the inside of the card with the 2nd part of the "fractured funny" sentiment. Ahhh.....so perfect, so obnoxious, so Hambo!
And here's a fun birthday tortoise that I paired with some glitter chipboard letters.
He was lots of fun to color and is perfect for all of those summer birthday cards. I even have a friend who has a pet tortoise that lives in her backyard. She's always on the lookout for cute tortoise stamps...which are kind of hard to come by.

Be sure to hop on over to Gloria's blog to check out her Hambo sneak peeks. Then head on over to the Hambo site tomorrow to pick up some of these fun new images for yourself.

Hambo Garden Signs

Over the holiday weekend, the kids and I made signs for our organic vegetable garden. This is a fun tradition that the kids look forward to each Spring. This year we decided to use this cute new digi from Hambo Stamps. Who doesn't love a little garden gnome?

I hope you're all enjoying your holiday weekend and traditions with your families. A huge thank you to all of the military familes out there. I'll be back tomorrow with a fun little announcement!

Hambo Challenge Time

This is my second post for today. If you're here to check out the new challenge from Christmas Stampin All Year Long, please scroll down to the next post.

April 30th - can you believe it?!
A new month is just around the corner and we've got a new challenge of "epig" proportions for you on the Hambo blog! I created the sketch for this challenge, so I'd love for you to play along with us. (You know....it would make me look good to the Hambo boss hog in charge .*wink*)Here's what I came up with...
This was the first stamp that I ever purchased from Hambo, and it's still one of my all time faves. It's appropriately called "Harvest Moon" and it's a great image to paper piece.
I used some patterns from BasicGreys "green at heart" collection and some yummy felt flowers by Stampin Up.
I finished it off with a fun little sentiment that I thought would be perfect for a gardener.

You can check out all of the juicy details and see what the rest of the team came up with right here. Thanks for stopping by today to visit me. Have a fantastic weekend!

Hambo Hump Day

Graduation time is quickly approaching and this cute digital image by Hambo was really fun to work with.I used one of Karen's sketches from several weeks back and some really bright patterns from SU's Sale-A-Bration paper pack. I paper pieced little Henrietta's graduation gown by running my patterned paper through the printer and just cutting it out.

Be sure to check out the Hambo blog tomorrow. Thursday is always an exciting day over there! There will be a brand new digital image released for a super low introductory price AND a one of a kind digital image will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Oh, and don't forget that you have until midnight tomorrow to participate in our April challenge! A brand new challenge will be announced on the 30th.
My son is busy at school this week with STAR testing. I'm off to go bring his class a nice healthy snack so they can stay focused. Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow.

Happy Spring

We had a wonderfully lazy weekend. You know, the kind where you hang out in your jammies all day, play board games and just totally chill. No plans, no company, no appointments, no birthday parties to attend - it was perfect. I even whipped up a batch of vegan pumpkin bread from my new book - it was yummy!

Todays card uses an adorable digital image by Hambo. These "spring" bunnies are so cute and the sentiment is perfect.
Oh, and speaking of Hambo...did you know that they now carry May Arts ribbon? I just got my sampler pack in the mail and I'm loving the variety of colors. You can check out their grosgrain ribbon selection right here.
Thanks for hoppin' by today.

Can you believe that March is over?!
With the end of the month comes a new challenge from the Hambo team. Here's what I came up with for the April challenge. This is "Wee Henry" and he's playing doctor today! Can you guess what the challenge is for this month?
A color challenge?
A sketch challenge?
A recipe challenge?
You'll have to hop on over to the challenge blog and find out! Don't forget that you've got ALL month to make as many entries as you want!
