Tomorrow is a new day

Well, Jen did it again.

She posted another sketch that was just too FABULOUS to resist!

Here's what I whipped up...

This little bundle of cuteness is from The Greeting Farm.

Adorable, no?

I finally busted into my new "Fine and Dandy" paper pack by My Mind's Eye - so many great patterns and colors.

Before I assembled my card, I added some espresso twine to the edges of my yellow patterned paper. Everyone seems to be using twine these days, and I was starting to feel left out, so I ordered LOTS.

After I paper pieced the laundry pile and hair band on the main image, I added tiny wooden clothespins to the top corner.

And finished it off with a rub on sentiment and a tiny metal hanger.

If your mojo's lost or you just need some great inspiration, hop on over to Decontructing Jen for AMAZING sketches and samples! Thanks for poppin' by today.

Happy Monday!

She totally rocks

My son asked me to make a rock star card, for him to give to his sister for her birthday.  Rockstar Anya from The Greeting Farm was the perfect choice.
Her party colors were purple and turquoise, and so was her homemade electric guitar cake.  Of course, I had to use the same colors for her card.
Matchy-matchy = happy MacKenzie.
The base of this card is a 5 1/2" square and the layout is Jen's April SFYTT.  We decorated mini water bottles for her party with Rockstar Anya images that my daughter colored.  And we used the same image for her thank you cards.  The birthday girl was thrilled because she got to keep this one!
Hope you're all having a fantastic Monday!

Thanks a bunch Anya

My kiddos recently got a package of goodies from their cousin in Japan and I needed an extra special thank you card to pop in the mail. Jen's January SFYTT inspired the layout and Anya was the perfect size for the main layer. She's part of the "Miss Anya Collection" from The Greeting Farm and she's so much fun to color.
The patterned papers are by BasicGrey and the card base is SU's Not Quite Navy. Of course I had to finish it off with some orange jewels - wouldn't be one of my cards without some sparkle.
The green Copics pictured above were used to color the grass. You can see my tutorial for that right here. Thanks for stopping by!

Hoppin' Into The Holidays with TGF

So is everyone having fun hop, hoppin' around?! If you want to start at the beginning of the holiday hop from The Greeting Farm, click here.

I know you've got lots more hoppin' to do, so I'll keep it short and sweet.

Using Santa as my inspiration, here's what I came up with...
I popped up Miss Anya's face on dimensionals and paper pieced her gift bags.
Then I embellished my little heart out with gold cord, music paper, a gold marker, chipboard, a Santa hat and Stickles!

More is more right?

Thanks SO much for stopping by today!
Have fun on the rest of the hop!

For a rock star

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I was L-A-Z-Y and enjoyed every second of it! Luckily I had a little time to play in the workshop (in my jammies) and whipped up a quick birthday card for my daughters BFF. Only Miss Anya could get away with an colorful outfit like this! The stripes on the Doodlebug patterned paper matched perfectly with SU's Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay. The sentiment is a rub-on and suits the recipient perfectly. Don't you just love being able to customize cards and make them personal with something as simple as a sentiment?!
Quickie post for me today. I'm off to plan a medieval feast for 60 4th graders. I've already promised my husband that I won't over-do it and leave myself bedridden for another week! We're definitely having a feast of yummy food and I've decided to bring some loaves of homemade bread. Other plans include a jousting tournament with swimming pool noodles. Anybody out there have any other fun ideas?? Help a girl out....

Take a deep breath...

I've had my eye on Yoga Anya for quite some time now. She's just too cute so I had to ink her up right away. The green and floral papers are from a BasicGrey pack and the pink polka dot was in my stash. I used a PaperTrey die for the kraft panel behind Anya and a sentiment from MFT's "Serenity" set.

To make the floral embellishments, I used an SU punch and then added yellow buttons to the center. The buttons are threaded with Scrappers Floss that was colored pink with a Copic. That's it for me today.
It's beautiful out and I'm off to the Farmers Market!

Greeting Farm Turns 2!

Happy Birthday to The Greeting Farm! In honor of their big day, they're doing a blog hop, and it's a big one! If you'd like to start at the beginning, click here.

I know there are A LOT of blogs to hop through today, so I'll keep it short and sweet! Today I picked two of my favorite Greeting Farm cards that I've made recently.

First up is this sassy little number... I paper pieced her teeny tiny outfit to match the background paper and then popped up the whole image on dimensionals. The rub-on sentiment says "hello babycake" which I thought went perfectly with the image.

Next up is sweet little Stella...
Black, white and red is always a good combo. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the white panels and finished it off with some of my favorite polka dot ribbon.

I hope you like what you've seen here.
Have fun on the rest of the hop and stop by again sometime!

She's like, totally awesome

Hey there!
The family and I are back from Japan! What an incredible trip! I'll share a few pics later, but right now we're trying to adjust to the correct time zone! Our schedules are completely backwards right now and jet lag is totally kicking my butt!

Luckily, I anticipated the whole jet lag "thing" and had some cards made and photographed before I left for my trip. (type A personality?....)

I picked up this super cute Miss Anya set at Scrapbook Territory last month and thought she'd be perfect for a thank you card that I needed to make. A good friend of mine surprised me with some of my favorite Harajuku perfume and I saved the yellow band from the gift box. (you can see it in the photo above)

The band was a super bright yellow, so my color scheme took off from there. And it just so happens that my super bright card is perfect for the challenge on the Oh Alice blog - yay me!
The sentiment is a rub-on by Stampin Up and I used some yellow jewels for a little sparkle.
I colored Anya's purse and skirt with Sakura glaze pens for a really shiny look.

That's it for me today. I going to go crawl back into bed.
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, Alice

I can not believe how fast this month is flying by! Only 15 more sleeps until I'm in Japan!

So have any of you joined the twisted tea party over at the Oh Alice challenge blog? They post a new challenge every weekend, and I finally had a chance to play along again. This week they had a sketch to play with. You know me and sketches....

Here's what I came up with... I picked up this adorable set by The Greeting Farm on my girls only road trip last week. I've already used every stamp in the set!
This cutie reminded me of Alice...

Well...Daddy is out working hard today, so I'm off to join my daughters class for "Donuts with Dad". Hmmm.....are donuts vegan?

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Monday. I hope all of you Moms out there had a fantastic Mother's Day. I was spoiled rotten and enjoyed every second of it! Among other goodies, my hubby surprised me with a Wii Fit Plus. I was so excited that I made him hook it up right away. Apparently I'm a natural at Super Hula Hoop - who knew? (I have the sore abs to prove it!)
It seems like forever since I've had a chance to go blog-hopping. I took some time this weekend to see what was going on out there in cyber-world. I came across a really cool blog called "Stampin When I Can". She has posts of what challenges are going on for each day of the week! It was so cool to be able to go to one blog and see all of the sketches right there!

This sketch caught my eye and I decided to play along for one last Mother's Day card that I needed to pop in the mail.My dear friend recently had twins, so I thought this "Laundry" image would be perfect for her card. Because as all of you other Moms out there know.....the laundry never ends......I used some pretty patterns from the BasicGrey Kioshi paper pack and paper pieced her head scarf. I finished it off with a mini purple jewel.
I used a black Sakura gel pen to color the laundry basket. It really gives it a shiny plastic look.I used a rub-on for the sentiment and embellished with more purple jewels.
I've gotta go. I'm off to a Mother's Day tea party in my daughters 1st grade class today! Thanks for stopping by.

Totally Bitchin' Anya

Today is hubbys birthday. He's turning the big 4-0! This will be a super quick post because I still have a cake to bake and presents to wrap.

Here's a card that I whipped up recently just for fun...
I used the Rockstar Anya image from The Greeting Farm and some Halloween papers from BasicGrey.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check out my for sale page that I updated over the weekend.
