Nurse Nora

A little birdie told me that my mother-in-law is secretly hoping to get a pack of cards from me for Christmas.  I was totally flattered and decided to whip up a batch just for her.  Here's one that I came up with using a sweet image by CC Designs, called "Nurse Nora".
I love red, white and black together and that color combo was perfect for this image.
I used a glitter pen on her angel wings and then outlined the whole image with a pale blue Copic to make it *pop*.
When I was finished with this card, it was missing something, so I grabbed my favorite sharp implement, poked away, and drew in a quick cross stitch pattern with a black marker.
Voila!  The perfect finishing touch!
Only six more days until Christmas!
I hope you're all enjoying this time of year with your families and friends.
Hugs,

Inky Inspiration

Today I'd like to introduce you to Nicholas.
He's part of the Inky Impressions family and you can find him right here.
This image was SO much fun to color.  Nicholas is such a cutie!
After I colored his chameleon friend, I had to add some clear glaze over him to look shiny and more "lizardy".
And then I added a googly eye - couldn't resist.
Not only does Inky Impressions have great images to play with, they also have incredible embellishments.  One of my favorites are the Inky Dinky Drops.  The clear ones are great because you can leave them clear OR color them with Copics to match any project.
I used a sketch from CPS for my layout and papers from the "Wander" collection by BasicGrey for the "Spots and Stripes" challenge over at Crafty Sentiments.  The sentiment and charm are both from Inky and work great with this Nicholas image.  The charm was inspired by the "Things with Wings" challenge over at Papertake Weekly.
Here's a peek at the inside...
I rarely finish the inside of my cards, but now I'm determined to start doing it on every single one.  It makes a card look so much more finished.  And it's actually really simple to do.  When I was done with the front of my card, I had a small pile of paper scraps.  I just cut them to size and then used a neutral color to stamp the same image that I had on the front of the card.  Easy - peasy!

If you'd like to see a quick tutorial on how I colored the grass, hop on over to the Inky Inspiration Blog and check it out!

She's got cooties....

My friend and her family have a case of the cooties. They've all been sick and they're getting tired of it. The least I could do is send them a card, right? I was intrigued by the sketch challenge over at MFT and decided to give it a go. I used a cute set called "Bunny Slippers" and some cheery colorful patterns by BasicGrey. I paper pieced the robe to match my background paper and then colored in the belt.
It was finished off with some yummy orange jewels, a rub-on sentiment and a polka dot rub-on strip.
That polka dot strip has been sitting on my desk for months. I blew off the dust, picked off the cat hairs and was thrilled to finally put it to use! Can I get a cyber high-five from my fellow hoarders?!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic weekend! Be sure to check out the details regarding my design team search! I'd love for you to throw your hat in the ring!

Pink Cat Digital Release Day!

Are you ready for a fantastic new release from Pink Cat Studio?! First up today is Dr Billy...
Have you ever had a sick little one who's stuck in bed all day? I decided to make a card with an activity included to pass the time. The card opens up to a mini doodle kit!
I attached a piece of acetate to white cardstock using eyelets.
Then I added a rub-on sentiment and included a dry erase marker.
(my son couldn't wait to try it out - hence the race car)
On the left side, I added a little pocket with a tissue to wipe the acetate clean.

And here's Lily!
Isn't she the cutest in her nurse outfit?
I popped up her hat for a little dimension.

And finally, here's Itty Bitty Nurse Betty.
Adorable, no?
Be sure to hop on over to the PCS blog where you can see what the rest of the team came up with this week. And don't forget that Melissa is offering a free digi image with ANY purchase today only! Click here if you're ready to shop!

Pink Cat Studio Release Day!

Are you ready for the uber-cuteness that IS Pink Cat Studio?!
Here is todays release! Do four of the above images look a little familiar to you?
The giraffe, robot and sick Billy & Lily images were some of the most popular digital images that Melissa made. Due to their popularity, she is releasing them today as mini sets in rubbah! In addition to those, she's also releasing three BRAND NEW images of Lily in her dress up clothes! All of the above images are now available in digital form AND rubber - wahoo!

And since I'm completely and utterly addicted to anything that Melissa draws, I've got seven samples to share with you today!
First up is this fun little robot...
He comes with 6 different sentiments so you can customize his "belly screen".

This is one of my favorite images. Billy is just tooooo cute! He's home sick today just hanging out on the couch with his puppy.

Oh, and his friend Lily is sick too! Here she is with her kitty...

Remember this image?
This was released in honor of Henry and became very popular.
I'm working on some thank you cards for my daughters teacher who is expecting a baby next month. This image was perfect for lots of paper piecing.

And here are the new Lily images!

First up is Lily dressed as a butterfly...

And here she is in her ladybug costume...
How about those Princess Leia buns?
Adorable, no?

I saved my favorite of the bunch for last!
Here's Miss Lily in her bumblebee outfit...
ACK!
Cutest thing ever!
I may have gotten a little carried away with the embellishments on this one, but I was having waaaay to much fun.

So what do you think?
Melissa has done it again! I know you can wait any longer to get your hands on all of these cuties. Just click here, and you'll be taken directly to the Pink Cat Studio store to pick the rubber or digis of your choice!
