Pink Cat Digital Release Day!

Sorry for my absence this week. I've been super busy going through all of the applications for my design team call! I'll be announcing my new team on Friday, February 4th! If you're interested, there's still a few days left to apply!

Now let's get to the real reason you stopped by. Once again, it's Pink Cat Studio digital release day and once again Melissa has blown me away...

Adorable, no?

For some reason, this "Alice" image put me in a very girly mood. I decided to create a little garden scene on my card. Lots of pink, flowers, jewels and dew drops. My daughter has already taken this card hostage, so I think that's a good sign :-)
Billy as the Mad Hatter inspired me to make a "Mad Money" container.Every girl needs a secret stash of $ to support her addiction, ehem....I mean hobby. (Sadly I had to borrow money from my kids to take this photo - they've sucked me dry this week!) I used lots of fun colors on this and embellished with orange jewels.

Be sure to hop on over to the PCS blog for more inspiration. I can't wait to see what the rest of the team did with these images. After that, head on over to the PCS website, so you can order these cuties and get your FREEBIE for today only!

Whoo's your valentine?

Seems like forever since I've played along with a Splitcoast sketch challenge. I decided to ink up this cute set by SU and whip up a little something for someone special. I adore all of the colors and patterns from the SU "Sunny Day" Simply Scrappin' Kit. It definitely makes it easy to put together a bright and cheerful card.

I used a glitter pen to outline the owl and accent some of the heart stickers.
Quick post today. I've got TONS of dt applications and blogs to go through! Thanks to all of you who applied! Have a great Monday.

Bon Voyage

Only one more week left in my design team call for "Christmas Stampin All Year Long"! If you're interested, click here for more info.

Last week I played along with the MFT sketch for the first time and guess what? I won! I know, I know.....beginner's luck. Well, they have a new sketch this week and it's another one that was too good to resist! Here's what I came up with using an MFT set called "Going Places". I used a double-sided patterned paper by We Are Memory Keepers and paired it with Riding Hood Red and So Saffron cardstock. Not my normal color scheme, but cheery none the less.
Have a fantastic weekend!

For my SuperMan

If you're interested in my design team call OR being one of our sponsor companies for a weekly challenge, click here.
Well, it's official. My big hunk of man turns one year older tomorrow! The kiddos and I decided that a Superhero theme would be perfect for his card, because he really is our hero. The cute image is from this set by Pink Cat Studio. The fun patterned papers are from a boy themed paper pack by DCWV and the layout was inspired by Karen's sketch last weekend.
Quick post today - thanks for stopping by!

She's got cooties....

My friend and her family have a case of the cooties. They've all been sick and they're getting tired of it. The least I could do is send them a card, right? I was intrigued by the sketch challenge over at MFT and decided to give it a go. I used a cute set called "Bunny Slippers" and some cheery colorful patterns by BasicGrey. I paper pieced the robe to match my background paper and then colored in the belt.
It was finished off with some yummy orange jewels, a rub-on sentiment and a polka dot rub-on strip.
That polka dot strip has been sitting on my desk for months. I blew off the dust, picked off the cat hairs and was thrilled to finally put it to use! Can I get a cyber high-five from my fellow hoarders?!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic weekend! Be sure to check out the details regarding my design team search! I'd love for you to throw your hat in the ring!

I have to admit that I'm completely smitten with dino cupid...
Valentine's Day calls for lots of glitter, so I went a little crazy on this one. Pink glitter spines, white glitter wings, brown glitter bow and pink glitter cardstock. Oh yeah....and pink jewels too.I found this sentiment in my rub-on stash.
Perfect, no?Here's another fun one with lots of bright colors...eyelashes = cute.I colored the hearts little dino is holding to match the patterned paper and then popped em' up with dimensionals.Finished it off with another rub-on sentiment. This little guy is getting into trouble... but he's oh so cute!

Meet Asia

Happy Monday peeps!
This is my first official post as an InStyle Chickie and today I'd like to introduce you to "Asia". Isn't she adorable?
You can find her right here.

Whenever I post an InStyle project, I'll be sharing step-by-step instructions with you.

Here's how I put together my card for today:
I started with a 5.5 x 4.25" base of Bermuda Bay and attached a 3.75 x 5" piece of white cardstock with rounded corners. Then I cut 1 x 3.75" strips of three colors and punched a scallop border. When I punched the borders, there is a small strip of cardstock left over. I saved the green one (see photo above).

Attach the scalloped strips to the bottom of the card, leaving some white showing.
(hang on to that extra green strip)

Next, I printed out "Asia" onto white cardstock AND yellow patterned paper. I cut the white printed image to 3.75 x 3" and I cut just the bathtub from the yellow patterned paper.

I colored the image with Copics and then attached the yellow patterned paper bathtub with dimensionals. Then I attached it to the card, just above the scallop layers. To make the top look more finished, I added that little strip of green paper that I had leftover from my punch.
Voila! Finished card!
Now comes my favorite part.....embellishing!!
I added some "waterfall" blue Stickles and liquid applique to make bubbles.

And what card of mine would be finished without jewels?!

It was all finished off with a rub-on sentiment that I thought went perfectly with the image.

Here's another peek at the finished card...
And here are the Copics used...Here's a quick tip regarding paper piecing...
Before I attach my patterned paper with dimensionals, I always take a Copic marker of a similar color and fill in the edges of my image.

That way, when you see the image from the side, it's nice and matchy-matchy.
Okay kids, that's it for me today! Thanks for popping by!
