Ahhhh....a freshly mowed lawn. Don't you just love the way fresh cut grass smells? My grandmother used to throw mint leaves all over the lawn before it was cut. I have continued the tradition and I have to tell you, there's nothing quite like it. As I was mowing the lawn this afternoon, I remembered that I had these grass stickers from about 8 years ago.
When I started started scrapbooking back in 1999, there was only one local "scrapbook store", which was really more like a stationary store. The only embellishments available were stickers - ugly ones. It's fun to look back at my very first scrapbook and the very first card that I made. We've come a long way baby!
So, in honor of my grandmother Josephine, I decided to use my old grass stickers on this card. I popped this one in the mail the other day for a little gal named Samantha who is turning three. I bought these large die cut letters by Daisy D sometime last year, but haven't had a chance to use them until now.
I used my SU color coach to find colors that complimented the bright fuchsia "s" and started rummaging through my scrap drawers. The little critters and sentiment are from SU's "Bugs and Kisses" set, which is by far one of my favorites to play with. I matted the sentiment and then used the horizontal slot punch to create a little tag for the ribbon to go through. A little bit of Stickles, some "sugared" brads, some ugly grass stickers and I was done! Ohhh...and don't we all agree that everything is cuter with googlie eyes?
