Happy Monday!
Today I have a new challenge from
the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long blog...Every year, I try to make some sort of Christmas Countdown thing-a-majigy. That way the kids know EXACTLY how many days until Christmas morning, and we get to do something fun each day of the countdown.
So, here's what I came up with for today...
I'm going to hang them all on the front door, and the kids will get to open this one when there are 25 days left until Christmas. Each card will be decorated totally different and have a fun activity listed inside that we can all do as a family.
I decided to go big and make a 5 1/2 inch base for my countdown this year. They are going to fill up the entire front door! I had a scrap of "Festive - Secret Santa" shimmer cardstock that I was determined to use up today! I punched my scrap with my Marvy Giga circle punch and attached a scalloped border to the top and bottom. Do you see the presents on the patterned paper with pink and green circles? Those were my inspiration for the layout and colors. To finish it off, I used some chipboard numbers from Bazzill on the main panel.
Here are some of the activities that I've used in past years for my Christmas Countdown:
Make hot chocolate
Make Christmas cards for our teachers and friends at school
Decorate the Christmas tree
Make a giant bag of popcorn and drive around to look at Christmas lights
Go out to dinner
Make fudge
Take my daughter out to pick out a gift for her brother
Deliver fudge to the neighbors
Bake cookies for Mommy's Annual Cookie Swap
Wrap presents for family and friends
Put up our Christmas lights
Have pancakes for dinner
Take my son out to pick out a gift for his sister
Sprinkle reindeer food on the front lawn
Leave cookies out for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph
Go to the movies
Mail our Christmas cards
Take a family picture
Stay in our pajamas all day
The kids REALLY look forward to opening the card for each day and seeing what we get to do. And the best part is that most of the activities are FREE. If you have any other ideas that I can add to our list, I'd love to hear them!
So what's the deal?
Are you going to play along with us?

There were lots of cute entries for our sketch challenge last week, but I thought this one by Peggy was especially cute...
Thanks for stopping by.
I'll be back tomorrow with some Hugs Sand Kisses...

Great Idea! Very fun and Funky!
What a great idea MacKenzie! I'm sure the kids love this -- who wouldn't?? If you'd like to make a second set for my door, feel free! :)
Hey Mackenzie! Wow, that's a fantastic idea but boy you'll be busy creating those cards!! I wish I was that ambitious. . .I can barely make one card a week! LOL!
Your kids will definitely have fun opening their cards. Your card for this week's challenge is awesome. . .such a fun card. Love the dp!!
