July Class Preview - Project #3

Here's the final project for my class this Sunday.
It's called a "free standing pop-up card" and is surprisingly simple to make. I used Elegant Eggplant and Garden Green cardstock along with some Certainly Celery ribbon. The floral image is from SU's "Embrace Life" and the sentiment is from "Full of Life". Here's how it's done...
Cut your cardstock to 4 1/4 x 11", stamp as desired, and score at:
1"
2 3/4"
3 3/4"
5 1/2"
7 1/4"
8 1/4"
and 10"

Next, line up your Crop-A-Dile with the 5 1/2" score mark and punch a small hole 5/8" in from the edge of the cardstock.

Repeat at the top of the score mark as well so you have two holes punched.

Use a craft knife and connect the two holes.
This is where your tag will slide through, so be sure to make the opening wide enough to accommodate any embellishments that you may have.

Next, apply red sticky tape to the far right edge and 1" in from the far left edge of the stamped side of your cardstock.

Next, create a 2 1/2 x 5" tag and mat it onto a 2 3/4 x 5 1/4" piece of cardstock.
Tip - be sure to stamp your image at least 1 inch up from the bottom of your tag because once it's all put together, you won't be able to see the bottom part of the tag. Since this was my first attempt, I didn't realize until I was done.

Still with me??
Okay, now we're ready to assemble.
Fold on all of the score lines and hold your cardstock as shown in the photo above.

Now slide your tag through like this.

Once you have it centered, adhere to the cardstock with the red sticky strip.
Now fold down the other side and adhere to the front of your tag.

This is what it looks like from the side.

And when completely folded.

Wow!
I hope that all made sense!
Here's another look at it.
And here it is completed.

Here's what it looks like flattened out for mailing.
Yikes - that seems like a lot of steps, but I promise it super simple!
Hope you give it a try.
Hugs,
