Color-Me-In Kit for Kids

Yay it's Friday!
We've got a fun challenge for you over on the Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog.

It's the first week of the month, and that means a "gift set" challenge!
This week's challenge is to create a "Card Purse" with a coordinating card. There will be no specific theme for this project. You may use any image, color, or embellishment as desired. And just in case you haven't made one of these before, here is a link to the card purse tutorial: Click Here

This is what I came up with... I'm really big on thank you cards and have taught my kids the importance of gratitude. In fact, they're not even allowed to play with a new gift until a thank you card has been popped in the mail. (It's not really as mean as it sounds).

Each year around the holidays, I make my kids a large set of thank you cards that are almost ready to go. All they have to do is color in the image and write a message on the inside. I decided to use todays challenge to get a head start on my Christmas thank you kits.

I used the card purse tutorial that is linked above, and then added another small box to the front to hold some crayons. I thought it would be cute to make the purse look like a giant box of crayons, so I went to the Crayola website for a little inspiration.
Obviously these cards are really simple, but just perfect for the kids to send to their friends and family during the holidays. These kind of cards are a great way to use up scraps of cardstock and images that you've stamped out but didn't use. (I have a whole drawer of those, how about you?)
All of these images happen to be from Pink Cat Studio, which my kids LOVE.
I hope you'll play along with us this week! Be sure to hop on over to the challenge post over at the CSAYL blog to check out what the rest of the design team did, and to post your creation. Have a great weekend!

I absolutely LOVE that you have taught your kiddos to do thank you's. As an "auntie" who has "gone without" thanks, so often, I can't begin to tell you how important it is to those of us who give . . . no, not for the thanks . . . but because we love . . .yet still want to feel "special" to those kids! I wish many more moms had your attitude!!! Hugs! Janice RR

Oh my word! This is a fantastic idea! When we were growing up we always (and I had 4 brothers) wrote thank you notes for the gifts we received. It's sad that it is something that seems to have gone by the wayside nowadays.
