Pink Cat Digital Release Day!

Hey peeps!
First off today, I'd like to give a shout out to all of the wonderful Pink Cat customers who have purchased Henry's stamp. Over $1,000 has been raised since the release last week!!! You guys are AMAZING! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

You've been waiting patiently all week for the next Pink Cat digital release haven't you? Do you recognize that cute lil' kitty?
She's also a rubber stamp, but now available as a digital!
There are also 5 MORE digital images being released today that are not pictured above! You'll just have to hop on over to the Pink Cat digital page and be surprised!

But don't go yet!
I have three projects to share with you.

First up is this cute little kitty opening a Christmas present...
Yes....you caught me....this is one of the "surprise" images! I couldn't resist! Isn't it just the cutest?!

Here's a close up of the present.
I paper pieced and added some ribbon for a little dimension. To finish it off, I added one of the FREE sentiments available to all Pink Cat customers.

For my next project, I used the brand new Santa image.

I'm planning on giving some homemade Limoncello to special friends and neighbors this Christmas. Only the best for my friends though, so I had to make a test batch and see if my recipe was worthy. It is.......

I thought it would be cute to make a special tag to hang over the bottles to dress them up a bit.

Here's a view from the side.

To make the tag, I used a 3" x 7.5" piece of kraft cardstock and scored it at 5.5". Then I used a 1 3/8" circle punch to make the hole.

Next up are two adorable penguins kissing under the mistletoe...

ADORABLE!
I used Jen's sketch for the layout on this and some fun patterns by BasicGrey.

Here's a close up of the main image...
While I was cleaning out one of my embellishment drawers this week, I found a little bag of "snow". I remember picking this stuff up at a scrapbook expo about 3-4 years ago and haven't seen it since! I was so happy to find it because it was the perfect touch for my card. I also used some bubblegum pink velvet flock on Miss Penguins coat.

So that's it for todays release! What do you think?
Aren't Melissa's images amazing?

Hambo Hump Day

It's that time of year again - cootie time!
Cooties are everywhere right now and with two school aged kids we're being extra careful these days. I figured it couldn't hurt to have a get well card on hand though, just in case.

For the main image, I used "Flasher" item #2503. The red patterned paper by October Afternoon paired nicely with my hospital gown green cardstock. The robe was paper pieced to pull it all together and the sentiment is part of the "Funny Sayings" collection.

Here's what the inside looks like with the other half of the sentiment...

Hope you and all of your loved ones are cootie-free!
Be sure to check out the Hambo blog tomorrow for their "One & Done" auction!

Gobble Gobble

Halloween came and went, and now it's on to the next holiday of the season. Check out this adorable turkey that I did at the scrapbook expo a few weeks ago. Isn't he adorable?
Just look at that face!
And here's the best part.....he's actually a box!
With all of the inking and doodling, this took about 20 minutes to make, but he was totally worth it.

Patient Trevor

I picked up this cute image of Trevor when I was in Hawaii a couple of months ago. When I got back home, I stamped him out and colored him in. And there he sat, colored and cut out, on my desk since the end of September.
When I saw Jen's SFYTT over the weekend, I thought I'd try to incorporate this cute little guy into the sketch.

Here's a close up of cute little Trevor. He reminds me a lot of my son, which is why I bought this stamp in the first place. When I colored in his sweater, I made small circles in rows. That was my attempt to make it look like a knitted sweater.

Quick post for me today.
I've got a date with 24 first graders this morning!

Friday Faves!

So many sad things going on in the world this week.
Here are a few things that made me smile...

This DIY woodgrain rug - very cute.

These Cake Wrecks...

This online store - I just did some Christmas shopping there.

Check out this potty training kit that we got for our three cats! Yes...our CATS! We're on week two of potty training - so far so good. The family and I have had hours of entertainment watching the cats use the toilet.

Cupcake bandaids

Oh....and seeing this cocky little survivor getting voted off last night kind of made me smile too.
Have a wonderful weekend and hug your loved ones extra tight.
I'll see ya on Monday.

Pink Cat Digital Release Day!

It's digi release day at Pink Cat Studio!Due to popular demand, Melissa has turned the October rubber stamp release into digital images! Lucky me, because I was a guest designer last month for the release of these cute Christmas images. You can see all of my samples for those by clicking on the following links.

Bobby with stack of presents - Betty and Bobby on candy cane

Christmas Fairy - Betty dressed as tree -
Betty and Bobby on a reindeer

Are you ready for the new stuff?
Here's Billy on his polar bear...
I used some BasicGrey and a navy cardstock to give this card a masculine feel. And how about that cute sentiment?! Did you know that Melissa offers these sentiments to her customers for FREE?! You can check them out here.

I just couldn't help myself on this next project. Every time I looked at this cute little polar bear, I thought of those adorable Coca-Cola commercials that are on every holiday season. I filled a 3 1/4 inch box with gummy cola bottle candies - the BEST candy ever made.
Sadly, my little box was completely empty an hour after I took these photos.
And for my final project today, I used the cute cupcake image.

This was a fun one to color.

And this new digital image is very special. It's for Henry.
You can read all about this very special image on the post just below.
Thanks for stopping by,

In honor of Henry

This week has been a very sad one as Pink Cat Studio DT member Sarah Anderson’s 3 year old son Henry passed away on Monday. Little Henry was unable to overcome a virus that made him ill last week.

Lorie Ames has organized a way to donate for a memorial for Henry. Henry loved his local zoo and visited it almost every day in the summer. As a memorial, trees will be planted there in his honor. Melissa at Pink Cat Studio has created a digital stamp to help raise funds for a tree for Henry. All proceeds from the sale of the digi stamp, minus Paypal costs, will go towards the tree.

If you would like to donate towards the tree, please visit this webpage to purchase the digi stamp.

Another way to donate to the memorial is to print out this form and mail in your donation directly. Please write on the form that the donation is for Sarah Anderson’s son Henry. Once all of the money is collected, a tree and location will be selected. If you have questions about the form please contact Lorie Ames. Lorie will be in contact with Sarah along this memorial journey to ensure that her wishes are followed.

If you don’t know Sarah and would like to learn more about her, please visit her blog. Thank you for your help to raise money for a tree for Henry.

In honor of Henry, I decided to use his digi stamp to make a card for a little girl I know who is currently fighting a virus of her own.

My heart goes out to Sarah and her family.
I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through.
Hug your loved ones a little tighter today.

Arigato

I got an early birthday present yesterday from my Mother-in-law and wanted to whip up a thank you card for her right away. Some of you may know that she's Japanese. I have a whole shelf of special Asian themed stamps that I only use for her. She just loves getting a handmade card in the mail. For this one, I used a clean and simple layout. Instead of using paper for one of the layers, I hand stitched a single white thread. I used some clear microbeads on some of the sushi so they looked just like tobeko (flying fish eggs). After I colored the main image, I cut it out and placed it over a piece of sushi grass for a fun little element.

Quick post for me today. I'm off to do some Christmas shopping because I'm determined to be DONE by Thanksgiving!
Big hugs to all of you,

For a sweet friend

My daughter is very excited about a birthday party for her friend this weekend. It's the first birthday party of the school year, so it's a pretty big deal....to a room full of six year olds. She asked me to make a special card for the occasion - like I needed an excuse right? Princess Anya is one of my go-to stamps for little girl birthday cards. She's just so cute! And what little girl doesn't think she's a princess?! I thought the SU Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo were a nice contrast to the black hair.
I paper pieced her dress and used some Doodlebug Sugar Coating on her wand and crown. Then I added a pink jewel to the center.
Now I just need to find the perfect gift and I'll be set!
