Buttons & Ribbon

Today's challenge over at
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long was to use buttons and ribbon.
Yay! Those are two of my favorite embellishments!

Here's what I came up with...
I made a card first, but then decided to keep playing. I've always wanted to make my own gift tags for the holidays, so I decided to give it a whirl today.

For my card, I used the deer image from "Forest Friends" by The Greeting Farm. I colored him in with Copics and added a red jewel to his nose to make him a little more festive. The plaid patterned paper is from the "Mr. Campy" line by Cosmo Cricket. I paired that up with some Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa and Garden Green cardstock. The button embellishments were really simple to make. All I did was attach some glue dots to the back of a button and then stuck my ribbon on the back in an accordion motion. They kind of look like flowers don't you think? I'll have to play with that technique some more...
Here are the gift tags...
Whoever invented punches.....I love you!

And a few close ups...

Be sure to hop on over the the CSAYL blog and check out what the other creative Christmas divas did! We would LOVE for you to play along with us and leave a link on the challenge post.

There were lots of cute entries for the number challenge last week, but Lisa's card caught my eye. Nice job Lisa!

Thanks for stopping by to peek at my projects!
Have a super day.
