SO many scraps...in so little time...

I'm using the "Jersey Shore" pattern paper for one of the projects at my class this weekend. Now, I normally go for the earth tones, but this bright collection is really fun to work with. After cutting and prepping for my class, I had a ton of scraps left over.
I always like to have a little "goodie" waiting at the table for each of my attendees as a small token of my appreciation, and I had planned on making the "scallop punch sandwiches" that I keep seeing everywhere. I was trying to think of something other than chocolate that I could put in them, and couldn't come up with anything that great. After staring at my scraps for a few minutes, I came up with these little guys. I just love how they turned out and the little treat inside is totally unexpected. Here's what I did...

I cut the scraps into 2 x 5 strips and scored at 1/2", 2 3/4" and 3".

I folded on the score lines and created a little matchbook. The double sided paper works so great for this.
When you fold it over and tuck the top layer in, this is what it will look like.
Next, I wrapped 12" of polka dot ribbon in assorted colors around two fingers and secured with a rubber band. Make sure to leave a small "tail" at the end.
I stuck the "tail" of ribbon under the 1/2" fold and stapled in place with my mini stapler! I just love how these turned out! Everyone will be expecting a candy or something and they'll be so surprised to find some yummy ribbon instead!

For the front, I used my 1 3/8" circle punch on another sheet from the same paper pack, stamped a sentiment from "Circle of Friendship" on Whisper White, punched that out with the 1" circle punch and popped it up onto the larger circle. I was able to whip up about 2 dozen of these puppies in 30 minutes - gotta love that!

TGIF!
