Quick and easy moving cards

My husband is on an 8 hour field trip with 60, yes SIXTY fourth graders! I'm not quite sure how I weaseled my way out of that one, but I'll be thinking of him while I'm stamping today. But before I do that, I wanted to share a little gift set that I made for a friend.Between school obligations, family commitments and dt deadlines,I only had about 2 hours to get this done, so I kept it super simple. I paired up SUs "Good Neighbor" set with some rub-on letters and cardstock scraps from my stash.
After all of the cards were done, I bundled up some envelopes and wrapped them with a band of cardstock to keep them together.

After a few quick measurements, I came up with a box and wrapped it with some yummy ribbon.

I decorated the front to match the cards and finished it off with a chipboard sentiment. Okay....I'm off to play in my workshop, ehem.....I mean do the laundry.

Three scrapbook pages done over the weekend - Hallelujah! I've been so busy stamping my brains out that I've gotten behind on my family photos.

Here's one of the pages that I finished of my sons recent birthday adventure. Everything that I used on this is from the SU "Cool Kids" simply scrappin' kit. I just love it when everything is matchy-matchy!

How did they manage to talk my husband and I into letting them do this?!
My kids are SO much braver that I'll ever be!

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long

Quick post today!

It's challenge day over at CSAYL and this week we were given a photo as inspiration. You can check out the photo and the challenge post, here.

This is what I came up with using some of the new Christmas designs that are now available at Hambo.I did lots of paper piecing on the stockings and then added liquid applique to the Santa hats.

Pink Cat Digital Release Day!

Pink Cat Studio is releasing three new Fall images today!
I don't send many Thanksgiving cards, but I always like to give the teachers a little something before the school break.

This year my son will be giving this flameless candle to his teacher. Since it's flameless, I was able to decorate my little heart out and not worry about it melting down. The LED light in the candle flickers like a real candle and looks gorgeous.

I cut out the main image with a Nestability and then traced around the edge with a gold paint marker.
This is what the back of the candle looks like wrapped with yummy gold cord.

My daughter will be giving this little goodie box to her teacher.

I think we'll fill it with some homemade cookies.

My last project today is a 12 x 12 scrapbook page.

Every year, we make a giant pile of leaves in the yard and let the kids go crazy. They really look forward to jumping around in it and I always get a picture to capture the moment.

Embellish magazine.com issued a fun challenge this week.
Here's what I came up with using all kinds of MFT goodies...

The image is from an MFT set called "WTG Goes Green".

After I colored the image and paper pieced her outfit and basket, I used the "Fresh Cut Grass" die to add a couple of layers of grass beneath her feet.

Then I added a couple of mini daisies for a girly touch.

I added a sentiment across the top using the "Banner Day" die and tied some teeny tiny bows to place between the pennants.

For two little love birds

Thank you so much for your sweet comments and e-mails regarding yesterdays post. I'm glad that I decided to share that with you.

I'm back today on a much brighter note and needed a card for a happy occasion. My cousin just got engaged, and I wanted to pop a card in the mail to her. I figured this was the perfect opportunity to finally use a cute new set by SU called "Aviary". I used the "Kioshi" paper pack by BasicGrey and paired it with Perfect Plum, Bashful Blue and Mellow Moss inks. I popped up a mini heart at the top of the cage for some dimension.
Here's a detail shot of the top corner. I colored some Scrappers Floss with a Copic marker before I threaded it through the button, and then added some pearls to "fancy" it up.

I finished off the bottom half with a rub-on sentiment and a chipboard heart from my stash.

This was the perfect opportunity for me to play in my purple room and get my mind off all the drama of the past few days. Thanks for stopping by - {{{hugs}}}

Glad the weekend is over...

I debated about whether or not to write this post, but in the end decided to go ahead and do it. If it can help just one person learn something, then I'll be glad. I just went through a hellish weekend, which started off with me falling down the stairs and freaking out my kids - I'm okay. It ended with us having to put down our favorite family cat, Jayden. The most heartbreaking parts were seeing the horrible pain that our kitty was in, and then having to bring my kids into the room to say goodbye to her.

My husband surprised me earlier in the week with a beautiful bouquet of lilies. We had them up on the kitchen island, out of reach, but a couple of petals fell on the floor and apparently Jayden chewed on them. She very quickly developed tons of painful ulcers in her mouth, gums and tongue. She stopped eating and drinking because of the pain and went into kidney failure. I can't believe how fast this all happened.

I had NO idea that lilies, ALL lilies. are extremely poisonous to cats. We've learned alot in the last couple of days, and I thought I'd share some of it with you. Below is a list if items that are extremely hazardous to your pets.

I chose to use a fun image called "Hootie Pie - Santa". The challenge this week is to use your border punches differently than you usually do. I decided to use my eyelet border punch to make a ruffled edge. A technique that I've been wanting to try, and so simple.

First, I punched my strip.
Then I crumpled it up.(does anyone else have a hard time crumpling up a perfectly good piece of cardstock?)

Then I unfolded it and attached it to my card front, trying not to flatten in out too much.

Easy-Peasy!

Pink Cat Digital Release Day!

Have you ever been SO excited about a new release and sworn to secrecy for two whole weeks? Torture I tell you....
I'm super excited to share Pink Cat Studio's newest digital release!

So have you heard the horrible news?
Blobby had an accident and now he's a zombie...This was a fun one to make. I paired several BasicGrey patterns with Kiwi Kiss cardstock and then colored in Blobby to match. After consulting with my local zombie expert, I decided to use red glitter on the eyes and liquid applique on the goo coming out of his mouth.Vomit, foam, blood? Not sure what's exactly coming out of his mouth, but I tried to keep the gross factor minimal.Okay....speaking of gross.
Here's my "twisted" version of the same card.I hope all of you Lily & Billy fans are still speaking to me...

Here's Blobby in his Dracula cape and fangs...

Oh my gosh. He's sooooo cute!

I used the SU mini milk carton die for this one and shrunk Blobby down to fit on the front.

I popped up his cape with dimensionals and finished off the corners with yellow jewels.

Next up is bewitching little Lily...

I'm not really a "tag" person, but I was really happy with how this one came out - and quick too!

I used all kinds of fun goodies on this one and then popped up Lily with dimensionals.

I decorated a clothespin to attach the tag to a mini lunch sack.

Wouldn't this be cute filled with caramel corn and passed out to classmates?

Can't forget about Billy....

I mean Franken-Billy.

For this, I decorated an International Coffee Tin and made some chocolate covered marshmallows to look like Frankenstein.

And what Halloween release would be complete without a mummy?

Is this dog adorable or what?!

I added a big black pearl to his nose to raise the cute factor.
