Christmas Stampin' All Year Long

Hope everyone is doing well on this beautiful Friday. I'm off to do Halloween parties in 2nd and 4th grade today. In 2nd grade we'll be making globes out of pumpkins and in 4th grade we'll be making care packages for our troops to send out for the upcoming Veterans Day holiday. I went through my card stash last night and picked out 30 cards to add to the care packages. It feels good to know that they'll be going to a good home and surprising a soldiers loved one in the mail.

Today is also challenge day over at the Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog! The assignment this week is to use purple and silver on your card. I absolutely love these colors for a holiday card. Here's what I came up with using all Stampin Up goodies.
The sponging technique was totally inspired by Michelle Zindorf and the snowflake was stamped with Versamark and popped up on dimensionals. For the silver requirement, I wrapped some yummy silver cording around the card base and adhered the trimmed ends beneath the main image panel.

Does this pumpkin make my butt look big?

Undecided...

I decided to sit down and play with the current Mojo Monday sketch and came up with this yesterday afternoon. The image is by CC Designs and the papers are from the last SU Sale-A-Bration catalog.
I offset her from the center of the circle a bit because I was going to add a sentiment. The only problem I had was deciding which sentiment to use. For some reason I just couldn't decide, so I left it off and decided that I'll add one when the occasion comes up for me to use this card.

Mmmmmm.....pancakes

My haunted house was a HUGE success!! A little birdie even told me that it's the best one the school has ever had! After a month of planning, painting & prop making, I can finally kick up my heels and relax a bit.

And that's exactly what I did all weekend long. The weather here was windy, cold and rainy - and I loved every minute of it! It's finally starting to feel like Fall around here and I'm a happy girl because that's my favorite time of year. Every year around this time, my son and I like to try out different pumpkin recipes. We have a slight addiction to pumpkin anything. Over the weekend I made some delicious pumpkin pie pancakes and I thought I'd share the recipe with you. It's a vegan recipe, but feel free to substitute ingredients to your liking.

Pumpkin Pie Pancakes

1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
3 T sugar
1 T baking powder
1/2 t fine sea salt
1/4 t pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
1 1/4 cups of vanilla soy milk
1/2 cup organic canned pumpkin
1 T corn oil

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and pumpkin pie spice. Set aside.

2. In a blender, combine the soy milk, pumpkin puree and corn oil. Process until smooth and then add to the bowl of dry ingredients. Mix with a few strokes until combined.

3. Ladle 3 tablespoons of batter onto a hot oiled griddle for about 2 minutes and flip.

Serve with pure maple syrup or almond butter cream (recipe follows)

Almond Butter Cream

3 or 4 pitted dates
1/2 cup hot water
1 cup blanched almonds

Soak the dates in the water until soft. Place the dates and their soaking liquid in a blender, add the almonds, and blend until smooth and creamy. Store in the refrigerator, tightly covered, until ready to use, up to 1 week.

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long

This will be a quick one for me today, because I'm on my way to set up the haunted house that I've been prepping for all month!

I was given a cute image called "Bella da Snowlady" to play with.
This was a great image to paper piece, and I used my new favorite color combo that I mentioned yesterday.
For the metallic part of the challenge, I added a snowflake charm by Karen Foster and tied it on with some yummy purple ribbon.

The first image that I played with was the polar bear. As soon as I saw that little cutie, I thought he needed a sweetheart to rub noses with. Here's a close up of these little lovebirds.

To add some fun details, I used liquid applique on their tails.

And added eyelashes to the girl.

We've got lots of winter birthdays in our circle, so that's what inspired this card using an adorable Lily image. Eeeeek!
Isn't she the cutest?!
And I'm just loving this color combo of purple and green!

I placed a sparkly snowflake behind Lily, and then added loads of glitter to her outfit.

I "grounded" the image by punching out an oval and covering it with Stickles.

It's supposed to look like ice....did I succeed?

Here's a simple little gift bag that will definitely be going home with a teacher this year.

After coloring Betty, I cut her out and popped her up onto a tag that I cut with my Nestabilities. Then I colored the trim and some of the image with a gold paint marker for a little holiday sparkle.

Every girl should have gold ice skates.

Remember that color combo that I mentioned before?
I couldn't help myself...

This time I added some turquoise for a *pop* of color.

Distressed Thursday on a Monday

This is Thursday.Isn't she super cute?!
Club Anya is having a distressing challenge and I wanted to ink up this Greeting Farm cutie and play along.

These are the two items that I always use when distressing...
I used the Heidi Swapp tool along the edges of all the cardstock and then sponged on some Creamy Caramel ink.

Even though this card is distressed, and inked, and torn, and ragged, I still had to add some "girly" touches like ribbon and flowers.

I was inspired by the traditional colors and all of the snowflakes.
Here's what I came up with using an image from "Itty Bitty Christmas".

Here's a close up of Betty, Bobby and their reindeer.
I decided to flock Rudolph's antlers for some fun fuzzy texture.

And I was thrilled to finally have a use for these red snowflakes that I've been hoarding for waaaaay to long. I layered a couple of them and added a button to the middle.

For the birds

Pink Cat Studio is back today with some new rubbah! Melissa has put together three great sets that were originally released as digitals.

Do you remember the sock cupcake that I made for Valentine's Day? My neighbor gave me these socks the other day and I just had to make another one! This one has a Halloween theme...
I cut the image into a tag shape and added some rub-on letters for the sentiment. Then I tied it all up with three ribbons and finished it off with a skull that my friend made out of polymer clay.

Adorable, no?

To make my own candy embellishment, I stamped out a decorative circle and punched it out. Then I wrapped it in some clear plastic and tied off the ends.

The rest of my projects were done when these images were released as digis, but I thought I'd share them again today.

This bird image was the perfect size and shape for a checkbook cover...
These owls on a unicycle crack me up...

And this rub-on sentiment was perfect for this image...
