Together Forever

2nd post today

Todays challenge from the Little C's divas is all about layers. 2+ layers to be exact. I just love me some layers! Here's what I came up with for the 2+ layers challenge....My Aunt and Uncle have an anniversary coming up and this little beauty will be surprising them in the mail. I used the "Spring Couple" image by CC Designs and a rub on for the sentiment.

Aren't they adorable?
Since this was an anniversary card, I thought some pearls were in order.

Did you know that ALL rubber stamps at Little C's are currently 40% off?! Jen is clearing out her inventory and everything must go! Use coupon code: "GoodBuy40" at checkout to get your discount.

After you've checked out the website, hop on over to the other divas blogs to see what they've come up with for the layers challenge. Maria & Jen. Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Monday. I hope all of you Moms out there had a fantastic Mother's Day. I was spoiled rotten and enjoyed every second of it! Among other goodies, my hubby surprised me with a Wii Fit Plus. I was so excited that I made him hook it up right away. Apparently I'm a natural at Super Hula Hoop - who knew? (I have the sore abs to prove it!)
It seems like forever since I've had a chance to go blog-hopping. I took some time this weekend to see what was going on out there in cyber-world. I came across a really cool blog called "Stampin When I Can". She has posts of what challenges are going on for each day of the week! It was so cool to be able to go to one blog and see all of the sketches right there!

This sketch caught my eye and I decided to play along for one last Mother's Day card that I needed to pop in the mail.My dear friend recently had twins, so I thought this "Laundry" image would be perfect for her card. Because as all of you other Moms out there know.....the laundry never ends......I used some pretty patterns from the BasicGrey Kioshi paper pack and paper pieced her head scarf. I finished it off with a mini purple jewel.
I used a black Sakura gel pen to color the laundry basket. It really gives it a shiny plastic look.I used a rub-on for the sentiment and embellished with more purple jewels.
I've gotta go. I'm off to a Mother's Day tea party in my daughters 1st grade class today! Thanks for stopping by.

I'm a big fat cheater pants....

TGIF!
It's challenge day over at the Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog. This week we want you make an accordion file purse with this wonderful tutorial put together by my uber-talented buddy Maria.

I totally cheated this week, but I have a good reason!
I printed out the tutorial, picked out my papers and was getting ready to start......when I remembered a Christmas gift that I received last year. It was an accordion file box kit by K & Company! Normally this would go into my "needs to be altered" storage box, which is where it has been for the last five months. I decided to USE it instead of save it. Can I get a cyber high-five from my fellow hoarders?! Amen!

This is the kit..... It also came with coordinating papers....
I decided to make it into a Christmas organizer. I created a cute "title" using some of the alphabet stickers and paper clips that came with the kit and finished it off with some alphabet rub ons that I had in my stash.

I used more of the alphabet rub ons, scrap paper and a circle punch to create tabs for each section of my organizer.
And since I was already "cheating" this week.....
I used the extra chipboard pieces from the kit to create gift tags (instead of a matching card). What can I say?
I was being naughty and I was on a roll!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a super weekend and play along with us if you have a chance.

Pink Cat Digital Release Day!

You asked and she listened!
This week Melissa has decided to turn some of her popular rubber images into digitals! AND she's doing another freebie with a purchase today only! I played with two of the images last night and here's what I came up with...
Isn't this bird cute!?
I get the feeling that she's a bit of a diva....

I also printed her out on some fun blue patterned paper so I could paper piece her body.

And here's Lily getting into trouble at the petting zoo.

Be sure to hop on over to the Pink Cat Studio website to claim your free Mermaid Lily image with any purchase today. Quick post for me today. I'm off to a Mother's Day celebration in my sons class. Thanks for stopping by!

Outside, Inside

This is my second post for today. If you're here for the Pink Cat Studio rubber release, please scroll down to my previous post. Thanks!

It's challenge day with the Little C's divas! This week our theme is "Outside, Inside" and we want you to decorate the outside and inside of your project.

Here's what I came up with... I used a tin and a cute image called "Nurse Nora" to make a mini first aid kit for the car. I used glitter on her angel wings, a Sakura glaze pen on her red boots and popped up her apron with dimensionals.
Here's the inside of the empty box...
And here it is filled with some Mommy essentials...

If you want to play along with us, and need some inspiration, be sure to check out the blogs of the other two divas - Maria & Jen. All of the juicy details for the challenge and the winner of last weeks challenge can be found on Jen's blog.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs,

Don't talk to me until I've had my Starbucks

I'm definitely a "don't talk to me until 10am" kind of gal, so I just love this image. Her name is "Coffee Kiki" and you can find her right here at Little C's along with all of her other cute CC Designs friends.

After I had little Kiki stamped out and colored in, I thought she needed a little something in the background to ground her. I decided to try drawing my first wood floor and took pictures along the way - you know, just in case it came out well and was blog-worthy! Being my first attempt, I was thrilled with how it came out and thought I'd share it with you today.

And let me just say that if I can do this, ANYONE can.
Using a ruler and a 0.05 Copic Multi Liner, I drew in a wood floor and a baseboard.

Then I used Copic E49 (Dark Bark) to scribble around the edges and do a little shading under her feet.

Then I blended in some E29 (Burnt Umber).

And filled in the rest with E57 (Light Walnut).
To finish it off, I filled in the baseboard with Y28 (Lionet Gold - not pictured).

I hope that you found this helpful and give it a try!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my little corner of the world today.
I hope you have a happy day!
